West Virginia Allows: Nominations and Local Recalls.
- Partisan Candidate – no signatures required. Filing fee equal to 1% of the annual salary for the office sought is required.
- Independent – Signature equivalent to 1% of the total number of votes cast in the last election for the office sought, but no less than 25 signatures.
- Write-ins – Candidates must file a Certificate of Announcement with the Secretary of States office.
- Recalls – 20% of the registered voters in the city of which a candidate is to be recalled with NO TIME RESTRICTION FOR GATHERING SIGNATURES!
