Utah was the 45th State of the Union on January 4th 1896

Utah Offers: Statutes, Referenda, Local Initiatives and Referenda and Nominations.

Signature Requirements:

  • Statutes and Referenda – 10% of the votes for Governor from the last election.
  • Local I&R for all Cities and Towns – Population determines the signature requirements -10,001 – 25,000: 12.5%; 2,501 – 10,000: 15%; 501 – 2,500: 20%; 251 – 500: 15%; 1-250: 30%;
  • Nomination: U.S. Senate and U.S. House – Partisan Candidates $1,350 filing fee. Minor Parities – 1000 signatures of Utah voters. State Legislature – Partisan Candidates – Small Filing Fee – Minor Parties – 300 signatures of Utah Voters
  • Deadlines: Local I&R 361 days Maximum. Signatures must be turned in before April 15th before the next General Election. Referenda signatures must be submitted 45 days before the next general election.
