Oregon became the 33rd State in the Union on February 14, 1859.

Oregon Allows: Amendments, Statutes, Referenda, Recalls & Nominations.

Signature Requirements:

  • Amendments: 8% of the voters who voted in the last gubernatorial election.
  • Statutes: 6% of the voters who voted in the last gubernatorial election.
  • Referenda: 4% of the voters who voted in the last gubernatorial election.
  • Recalls: 15% of the voters who voted in the last gubernatorial election, in the district for the officer to be recalled.
  • Nominations: U.S. Senate 500 signatures. U.S. House – 300 signatures

Article IV Section 1 of the Oregon Constitution declares the citizens have the rights to ballot propositions.
