Maine Offers: Amendments, Local Initiatives, Referenda, Recalls and Nomination.

Signature Requirements:

  • Initiatives and Veto Referenda: 10% of the voters who voted in the last Gubernatorial election.
  • I & R Deadline: 18 Months
  • Local Initiative: 20% of the voters who voted in the last Gubernatorial election.
  • Local Initiative Deadline: 120 days.

Article IV, Part 3, Section 17-22 Allows for Citizen Initiative and Referendum Process.
